Betws-y-Coed, is a small village lying in the picturesque Conwy Valley. The rivers Conwy , Llugwy, and Lledr all converge into the Afon Conwy at various points in the vllage.
The population of Betws-y-Coed is about 1500 people and Welsh is the language of the locals. The village is one of the prettiest of all villages in the Snowdonia National Park and has the advantage of good communications by main line rail and the many buses which leave the station car park very frequently.
The main road running through the vllage is the A5 and this used to be the main highway for the Mail coaches heading to Holyhead from London.
Visitor attractions for tourists include the many waterfalls , Swallow Falls being the most famous, the two Churches , St Michaels and St Mary's, the motor museum and the miniature steam railway, the golf club which welcomes visitors.Riverside walks and the Miners Bridge are very popular.
The large green in the centre is used for recreational pursuits. For the more adventurous then there are mountain bike trails in Gwydyr Forest.
Many artists were attracted to Betws-y-Coed and for those that like walking, photography and fishing then your choice is wide and varied. Llyn Elsi is very popular spot for walkers and fishermen.
